WHY I AM CREATING PHOTO BOOKS
Hundreds of special photographs of family, friends, and special events or moments, lay dormant, hidden from the public within their smart phones or I-phones. They are produced for memories. A button is clicked. Then photographs are placed into catalogs or small frames. Glancing upon them, once in a while, is a small pleasure. Thirty years ago, when I owned an event space, I created a series of books that contained pictures of each affair. I stored them on shelves, never to be seen again, not even by the client. Some of these “parties,” whether they be for weddings, graduations, or nightclub craziness, were implanted in my mind. When I realized that pictures are useless if unseen, I thought to myself, why take visions of what my eyes perceived, if no other is able to share in the fun? For years they are produced for memories. A button is clicked. Then photographs are placed into catalogs or small frames. Glancing upon them, once in a while, is a small pleasure. These delightful pictures were hidden from the world. Why not design a book that allowed people to participate in the excitement I enjoyed? This is January 2024 and my first addition, PHOTO BOOK TWO, is almost finished. My daughter, Allegra Saens Coleman has guiding me as I write these books as a young adult book series. I hope you will enjoy a glimpse of my life. Incidentally, I added some abstract or nonrealistic photographs. Maybe, I will enlarge them into paintings and exhibit them in art galleries.Dolores Rita Slakoff Browne
